A very terrible period is coming for our people.

According to TolishMedia, Azerbaijan is entering a new stage. This stage is called the era of digital control.

It’s no secret that while people used to create technologies to make their lives easier, today technologies are being developed to control and surveil people, and unfortunately, Azerbaijan is already at the center of this process. Modern technologies are giving the Aliyev regime new levers for tighter control over the population.

A document titled “Regulations on the Centralized Information and Digital Analytics System (MIRES),” signed by Ilham Aliyev on November 21 and posted on the president’s website, but removed about an hour later, confirms this.

Despite the document’s removal, a copy was saved, and it became known that Ilham Aliyev granted the State Security Service and the Special Protection Service the authority to collect data on every citizen of the country based on 35 criteria. Naturally, this step has one goal – to have high-level information about every step of the people.

With the help of these mechanisms, the Aliyev regime gains opportunities for harsher and more “constructive” measures against the opposition. Moreover, pressure will now be exerted more effectively. The repressive environment in Azerbaijan is gaining a “legal” basis through laws and presidential decrees.

A very frightening period is dawning for our people. Aliyev’s special services are already monitoring everyone and putting a “stop” to people who may pose a potential threat to the state and the regime. The Aliyev regime is now imposing shackles not only on our thoughts, views, and beliefs, but also on our daily bread – people will be “stopped” in all areas for dissent. As soon as personal data is obtained, they will be told in the store: “We cannot sell you bread, you have been put on a stop list.”
